Principal's Report 

 

Welcome

Dear members of the St Raphaels school community,

Congratulations to our Year 4 students who received their First Eucharist on Sunday 6th and 13th August. I would like to thank Father Benneth for two beautiful ceremonies; Father Rossi for the music; Marlene Walters, Justin Delaney, Shane Giese and Emma Sbizzirri for the preparation of the children; Rosalba Squarci for her guidance of the children as the school's Religious Education Leading Teacher; the children in the school choir for their beautiful singing at both masses; and to all of the teachers who attended the First Eucharist celebrations in support of the children.

We trust that all the families enjoyed this special occasion with their children, family and friends.

Playground Redevelopment Commences

On Monday works began on the redevelopment of Stage 2 of our outdoor playground redevelopment master plan. The playground construction company, Rocketbox, hope to complete the works by Friday 25th August.

A big thank you to the parents who assisted with the removal of the old playground and helped to prepare the site for the redevelopment. Thank you to one of our past parents, Martin Fitzgerald, who generously donated his time and machinery to remove the old playground. 

There will be a working bee on the weekend of Friday 25th - Sunday 27th August to finish the landscaping. If you are available to assist on any of these days, please contact Carol Coloe: playground@srprestonwest.catholic.edu.au

Father's Day Celebrations

A reminder that we have fantastic activities planned for our annual Father's Day celebrations on Friday 1st September. 

8 - 9 am: Father's Day Breakfast

9 - 9:30 am: Father's Day Assembly in the school hall

9:30 - 10 am: Guest speaker

10 - 11 am: Dads in the learning space

11 - 11:30 am: Morning Tea

11:30 - 3 pm: Walk to Zwar Park for Footy Day.

We invite all of our dads/ special person to join us on this special day.
