As part of our STEAM program, we will be running a STEAM Careers Event for students in September.
This biennial event will be similar to an event we ran in 2016. The idea is to have a wide range of professionals from various STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Design and Maths) careers represented, who will each have a stand so that students will circulate around them.
Students will then be able to ask questions about the career and pathways into it. Delegates will talk to the students informally in small groups – they will not be addressing a large group or need to have a formal talk prepared.
If you work in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Design or Mathematics career, we would love it if you would consider giving some of your time to be involved.
Please email me and I will be in touch. The details are below:

Most parents of adolescent children would be aware of the online game, ‘Fortnite’. For many young people, the addictive nature of this game is having adverse effects on children’s behaviour and affecting their mental health. With over 125 million registered players worldwide, this game encourages players to battle each other to death using a variety of weaponry.
In light of the recent announcement from the World Health Organisation now recognising 'gaming disorder' as a mental health issue, this special report will help parents gain a greater insight into Fortnite and the concerns surrounding it. Parents are encouraged to reassess their gaming allowances and better manage technology usage at home.
If you have any concerns about your child, please contact the School Counsellor for further information.
