VCE/VET Kitchen Operations Excursion

VCE/VET Kitchen Operations students enjoyed an excursion to the Langham Hotel in Melbourne where they experienced a tour of the hotel’s facilities and were treated to lunch in the Melba Restaurant. This excursion was kindly funded by CTCPSA to thank the students who prepared and served Sunday Lunch to CTCPSA members earlier this year.  The students learnt about emerging technologies in the hospitality industry and had a great day!

Loddon Mallee Region Athletics

On Thursday 10th October three CSC students participated at the Loddon Mallee Athletics held in Bendigo. These students won their events at the Sandhurst Athletics to make it this far, which was an achievement in itself.

It was great conditions with the sun out with a slight breeze. All students were very well behaved and had a great day out encouraging each other. We had some great results on the day so we congratulate students on their efforts. Thanks to Mr White for going along and helping on the day.

KIT van visit

Wednesday October the 16th, CSC helped launch the new KIT van in the Mount Alexander region.  Approximately 400 students on this cold, wet day, visited the van, checking out the space. The Health Action Team (HAT) organised a warming BBQ, alongside the YAG, the Youth Advisory Group, who offered prizes and ice creams.

Kit is a youth co-design mental health promotion initiative rolling out across the Loddon Campaspe region. Kit empowers young people to achieve and maintain positive mental health and wellbeing through three key elements:

- kit van

- kit app

- kit crew

The kit focusses on breaking down mental health stigma, aims to empower young people to focus on their mental health and wellbeing and can connect young people to local mental health and wellbeing services, resources and activities.

The kit app and van are accessible to all young people – they are free and the kit van can be requested to go anywhere in the Loddon Campaspe region.

The kit is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services.

The kit app can be downloaded from www.keepintouch.org.au
