Despite the weather conditions, the Spring Fair remains on the agenda for Sunday, with the location moved around into the Gwydir Street area of the school. Thanks to all involved in this day. We still hope to see you there!

Term 3 will see two of our long serving staff members move on to new horizons in their careers. Kiely Smith, Aboriginal Education Assistant, recently moved to Newcastle to take up a new career direction. Kiely worked at St Philomena’s School part-time for eleven years, combining this with secretarial work  for the Catholic Schools Office. The opportunity to acknowledge, thank and farewell Kiely occurred just recently, wishing her well for her sea- change.

After seventeen years at St Philomena's School, Pat Clancy has tendered his resignation, effective from the end of Term 3, 2016, to pursue other interests in the areas of spirituality and education. We acknowledge and thank Pat for his contribution to the life of the school and parish, wishing him every success in his ongoing commitment to the life of the diocese.

School resumes for Term 4 on Monday 10th October and concludes on Friday 16th December.
