Reading, reading and more reading!

With the holidays approaching, it is important that reading continues during the break. This would be a great time to make the most of opportunities to read in the car while you are travelling, having a sleep in and reading a great book while still in bed, staying up that little bit later to read those extra few pages to get you to the end of the chapter, or just visiting the local library to find some great new titles you can read.

Remember, we "learn to read" so that we can ultimately "read to learn". Continuing this skill each day builds our ability to access new vocabulary and content to move our learning forward. By simply reading for an average of 20 minutes each day, students have the potential to read up to 60 days in total by the completion of Year 6!

Enjoy the holidays and keep reading!
