Moree Youth Shield
St Philomena’s secondary students will be participating in the Moree Youth Shield on Friday 13th April. The day will be held at the Moree Services Club Fields and will run from 11am to 2.45pm.
Moree Plains Shire Council is hosting this event as part of the 2018 NSW Youth Week celebrations. Students will have the opportunity to engage in an inter-school touch football competition, dance lessons and art workshops. All local secondary schools have been invited to take part in these activities.
Students will walk with teachers to the fields at 10.30am and return back to school by 3pm. A barbeque lunch will be supplied; however, students will still need to bring a water bottle, snacks, sunscreen and hat. There will also be cold drinks available for purchase.
Full sports uniform is required. Normal lessons will operate Period 1.
Warramayala 2018
ATSI students from Year 8, 9 and 10 travelled to Corindi Beach on Monday to spend the week with students from across the diocese. Warramayala, meaning stand strong and together, is a camp where students come to celebrate culture and identity through workshops and reflection. We are staying at Arrawarra (meaning meeting place) at the Yarrawarra Aboriginal Centre (Yarrawarra meaning happy meeting place) on the site known as Nuralamee (meaning our home camp).
