Pupil Free Days in 2018
Community Anzac Day March Ceremony
The annual Anzac Day march will take place on Wednesday 25 April, 2018.
Students (K-10) who would like to march with our school are invited to meet staff in east Albert Street (near the entrance to Moree Secondary College) at 9.15 am ready for a 9.30 am start. Please wear full summer uniform (including hat) and bring a small water bottle.
The march finishes in front of the Town Hall and children can be collected straight after the formalities.
School Uniform Over the Coming Colder Months
The school recognises in this period of transition to a new garment collection, uniform will not be consistent. Our formal 2018 school photos have been taken which reflect this knowledge.
No parent is expected to purchase a winter uniform. Dedicated winter attire will not form part of the new uniform. This is due to our climatic conditions with its very short winter period.
Students who have a winter uniform should consider wearing it again in 2018 or adopt the interim alternative option below.
2018 Alternative School Uniform Options for Transition Period
Girls: secondary and primary: long sleeved white top under summer uniform with navy tights/stockings.
Boys: secondary- long sleeved white t-shirt under white shirt
primary- long sleeved school blue or white t-shirt under blue shirt

Butterfly Foundation Workshops
On Monday 11th April Stage 3, 4 and 5 attended Butterfly Foundation Workshops based around Body Esteem and Body Confidence presented by Amberleigh from the Butterfly Foundation. Thank you to P&F Association which sponsored this opportunity.
Butterfly Education offers workshops and presentations directly to young people, addressing various factors underpinning body image and aim to support all genders in embracing, accepting and respecting their whole self. The organisation is primarily based on early intervention and education for young people.
The Stage 3 Workshop had a key focus of understanding feelings, our amazing bodies and the power of words (appearance based teasing and giving compliments).
The Stage 4 Workshop focused on Building Body Confidence and explored what impacts self-esteem and body image (eg. our family, friends and puberty) and an introduction to the influence of media.
The Stage 5 Workshop focused Savvy on Social which examined the impact of body and self-comparison, the role of friends and a more in-depth look at social and other media.
A Butterfly Wings parent seminar was held in the Learning Centre on Monday evening that discussed Body Confidence and Body Esteem and ways in which to support young people.
Courtney Gemmell also attended a Butterfly Foundation Professional Development Workshop on Tuesday which aims to be implemented with younger students.
