AND BEFORE WE KNOW IT, TERM ONE HAS ENDED!!!

Report from the Middle School.

It is almost unbelievable that the first school term of 2018 has ended already. It feels that only yesterday we were welcoming our nervous little year 7’s to the Secondary school and last year’s 7’s and 8’s enjoying the first part of their academic year in their higher levels. How quickly is the year flying by? Our students seem to be settling in well and are definitely working exactly in the manner that we expect and encourage.

Students seem engaged, happy and producing work of a very pleasing standard. It has been wonderful seeing teachers and students working together harmoniously and striving to attain the best possible results they can.

Camps for the Year 7’s, 8’s and 9’s have been enjoyed by the students in the various locations that they have visited and a big thank you is extended to all the teachers who have given up time with their own families to ensure that our students are looked after and given this invaluable opportunity and experience.

Three way Conferences were productive and it was great to see so many parents and students attend. Various learning programs were enjoyed by the Middle School and students seemed to enjoy their time in the many classes that were being attended.

The Swimming Sports and SRC run activities seemed to be well received by the school community and the after school Homework Club attended enthusiastically.

I would like to thank the teachers, students and parents who have all shown appreciation, co-operation and support for one another as we all partake in this educational journey together. Collingwood College is a wonderful school and we are all proud to be members of this great community. I wish you all a wonderful Easter, a restful holiday break and we all look forward to having another exciting term soon.

Best Wishes,

CRAZY HAIR DAY

Thank you to the school community for supporting this special day. We raised close to $500.00 through hair colouring, ice –cream sales and gold coin donations!

A big shout out to Alex McDonald who raised a further $400.00 for shaving his head and David Palancaji for raising a further $100.00 for his head shave too.

Fundraising from the swimming sports by the SRC also netted another $300.00 so how wonderful that as a school community we were able to raise around $1300.00!

Well done SRC and Collingwood College!
