MAC News

MAC 2019 has officially begun!

At six rehearsals in, our cast have been learning how to dance the first number and have been working their vocal chords to sing it too. We would like to express our upmost gratitude to Ms Ebony Keremidis and Ms Melrose Tran for their hard work and efforts in choreographing and leading the dance rehearsals throughout the past 5 weeks.

Our first Saturday rehearsal with the cast was a huge success. The day centred on vocal coaching and perfecting the opening number, whilst also working in groups on a number of key scenes. We are so proud of the support, dedication and kindness that the students have shown one another and to the show.

A special mention to those students who have joined MAC for the first time. You have all shown great enthusiasm and commitment to the show and have stepped outside your comfort zones. In addition, thank you to the experienced cast members for making everyone feel welcome and for acting as positive role models.

In other new, the MAC band have begun rehearsing under the talented guidance of Mr James Orchard and Ms Melrose Tran. This year the band are faced with a very intricate and challenging musical score. You can hear their musical delights coming from the music room on a Tuesday afternoon; and the cast cannot help but dance when they hear the Addams Family tunes.

The backstage crew had their first meeting on Thursday, 2 May where they organised and discussed the making of props and sets in the lead up to the show. Mr Seijiro Nishioka and Ms Fatima Azmitia have been working away creatively behind the scenes to make our show come to life!

A reminder to all staff, students and parents that the MAC calendar can be found on Compass under the ‘star’ school favourites tab.

We are so delighted with the progress we have all made as a team thus far, and we are looking forward to the next few months of rehearsals.
