Work Placement Update

As part of the Work Experience program, eleven year 11 and 12 students have been trialing the Preparation for Employment and Access to the Community (PEAC) program at APM (formerly Oriel Services / Northstar). This gives students and families the opportunity to experience the program for a week before leaving Concord School to assess its suitability as a post school option.

The program includes retail work experiences at Target, Woolworth's and Big W, Car Wash at the Austin Hospital, Cooking and engaging in activities that will support them to gain employment.

The students thoroughly enjoyed their experiences at PEAC and are looking forward to attending on completion of Year 12 at Concord School.

Two weeks ago, Mitchell completed one week of Work Experience at Coles in Bundoora. His tasks included facing up, stock replenishment and replacement of price tags. Mitchell took great pride in his work and was an effective team member. His favourite task was facing up and he would recommend this retail placement. He is saving his hard-earned wages for his trip to America.
