Principal's Report

Presentation Ball

The Presentation Ball was held on Friday 11th August. This is a very special evening for Concord School. We had twenty-six students who participated in the ball and all did themselves, their families and the school proud. Some of the students started with us in Prep and they celebrated their amazing journey through the school. 

A very big thank you to goes to all our Secondary 11-12 staff, in particular Ann Park, Hayley Northridge and Sandra Sartor. Thanks to Lynne Codner for her fantastic effort as MC for the evening.

Parent Room

As a result of conversations with the Concord Community Connections group, we are looking to construct a Parent Room to be completed for the commencement of the 2018 school year. This room will be at the back of the Transition Building and will be accessed via a soon to be constructed pathway that will come off the current pathway that goes into the Transition Building. 

Parents and carers often sit in their cars or outside when waiting for their children when it is either very cold or hot. We hope that parents and carers will meet, socialise and discuss issues relevant to their children within this space. Access will be provided to free food and drink available as well as relevant pamphlets, brochures and informal information sessions. 

State School Spectacular

A number of our students are participating in the State Schools Spectacular on Saturday, 16th September, at Hisense Arena. The performance times are 1pm and 6.30pm and tickets can be purchased through ticketek.com.au.

Thanks to Karenne, Chris V and the other staff who have put time and effort into making this a fantastic experience for our students.

Before and After School Care

We hope to be able to announce some extremely exciting news regarding the provision of our Before and After School Care service in the next Newsletter. Watch this space!

All parents need to be logged into Compass so our school can communicate effectively with you. If you have any questions regarding Compass, or are having difficulty in logging-on, then please ring Karen Jordan at our school on 9467 3972.

Principal's Award

The principal's award goes to Nathan.

When Nathan started Concord he was very shy and reserved. This year Nathan has quickly settled into the routines of his classroom and has become a very active and respected member of his class.

Nathan is resilient and approaches his learning with a very positive attitude. He is willing to take a risk with his learning and will have a go at activities which challenge him. Nathan has developed some strong friendships and has an active social group in the playground.

He has become a very positive role model for his peers both in the classroom and out in the yard and is a highly valued member of the Secondary 9/10 section.

Well done Nathan!
