Principal's Report
Welcome to our third newsletter for the year. We hope you are enjoying some of the new information and videos in the newsletter. This year, our aim is to continue to improve our communication with our parent community.
We extend a warm invitation for all parents and grandparents to join us tomorrow at 9:30am for our Ash Wednesday mass. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and is an important time on our liturgical calendar. For more information visit the RE News page.
A reminder that Tuesday 12 March is a school closure day. The staff will be receiving professional development by Walker Learning experts.
A big thank you to all parents, staff and children for your cooperation and support during our recent Twilight School. The children enjoyed the day and we had a large number of prospective parents who visited our school on this day.
A reminder that tomorrow evening commencing at 6:30pm is our parent session on Parenting in the Digital World. This session will be run by facilitators from the Alannah and Madeline Foundation. This session will have a different focus to last year's session and we encourage a parent representative to attend this important session regardless of the age of your child.
Please secure your ticket for this free parent information session by registering at:

A big thank you to all of the parents who volunteered, organised and assisted at our recent Vintage Car Show and Community Event. It was a lovely day to share with each other. Special thanks to Liliana Varvarigos, Sally Di Martino, Andrew Aquilina and Filippa Brugliera for coordinating the food; Stuart Sloan and Sam Santoro for organising the vintage cars; Paula Moussa for the artwork and Joe Horton for the advertising boards.
We extend a warm invitation to any parents who would like to join us at tonight's SEB meeting at 7pm to be held in 5/6W room. Enter through the main school gates on Cooper Street, turn right and through the gate. 5/6W is located on the bottom level of the new two storey building. Our focus will be on building parent engagement as part of our School Improvement Plan.
Thank you to all of the parents who completed the short online survey on the children's Connectedness to School. We had a fabulous number of parents who completed the survey with 138 responses. Our school leadership team have already discussed the results and we will be asking the SEB for their feedback at tonight's meeting. We will be sending out another short survey for you to complete.
As mentioned in previous newsletters, our building focus this year will be on the final stage completion of the redevelopment of our outdoor learning areas and play spaces. Over the last few years, we have had a group of parents who have volunteered to be a part of the Playground Redevelopment Committee. This group of parent volunteers provides invaluable advice and recommendations for the plans and construction of the outdoor spaces. We extend a warm invitation to any existing/ new parents who would like to be a part of the committee to join us next Friday 15th March at 9am in the Staffroom to help plan for the next exciting phase of our outdoor playground masterplan.
This week we profile Mr James Downing.
