Principal's Message

                                                                     Mrs Josie Crisara

This week has involved a number of activities to raise cultural awareness among our students and staff.  At Chapel this week, the role that Jesus played in storytelling to teach about  the importance of  carrying out good deeds, looking after those in need and loving each other, was aligned with the story telling which is so important to the First Nations people of Australia.  It is their story telling that will raise awareness of hurts, wrongs and the way forward with reconciling.  Reconciliation is when people in conflict agree to make amends, to  fix things;  and links to the theme this year of Be Brave, Make Change.

Artist in Residence Book Launch

This week, The Visual Arts Faculty, led by Ms Linda Camilleri, launched the book,  Sadie and Otto’s Aitken Adventure which was an Artist in Residence collaboration work with Ms Olivia Grbac and students in the primary school.  Great teaching and learning, demonstrating creativity and project management was involved, from all aspects of the story to the illustrations and final production.

Aitken Live

Our music ensembles presented their work at the Aitken Live event led by Mr Glen Impey. The power of performance shouldn’t be underestimated.  It gives young people the impetus to practise their music and builds confidence and pride in learning.
