Dear Parents / Carers,
Our senior students have been auditioning for the 2022 production of “Beauty and the Beast”. On Monday our Foundation students spent the day immersed in experiences as part of their How the World Works inquiry into “Forces in Our World.” They were lucky enough to work with a real scientist from ‘Mad About Science,’ who helped them to explore some of the forces that made toys move in different ways. They also developed the scientific skill of observational drawing, and they worked together to create their very own toy that moved with a push force. What a fantastic day of scientific inquiry!
Harvey 0B and Mason 0A – We made a car that moved with a push force.
Diaco 0C, Zoe 0B, Layla 0A, Sienna 0A and Charlotte 0B – We were learning about how toys work, and we made our own balancing Bill!
Emily 0D - I learnt how to observe my toy and add lots of detail to my drawing.
I would like to thank our members of FORPS, Sharon Russell, Yvette McCormack, Alpha Puey, Dora Kalogeros, Annali Allemn, Zen Djonlagic, Emma Magdic, Georgia Balourdos for running the Mother’s Day stall. I trust that the treasures that were carefully selected were cherished!
Enrolments for 2023 are well underway. I invite the parents of siblings to submit enrolment forms for 2023 as soon as possible. Enrolments for Foundation 2023 are due by Friday 24 June 2022.
We are planning an Election Day Barbecue for Saturday 21 May. Are you able to give us some time on this day? All funds raised will go towards our architect designed Sensory Playground. We urgently seek volunteers.
The pandemic has been a once in a lifetime event, there hasn’t been anything like this since 1918. While the intense fear and panic from this time last year have disappeared, COVID is a long term event. We are no longer in the same high alert as we were last year however, we need to monitor symptoms. I thank parents who have been vigilant in testing and informing the school of positive cases and close contacts.
I respectfully remind families of the options to advise the school if a member of your household tests positive to Covid 19 or are a close contact.
You may either:
In additon to notifying the school, if your child attends Team Kids, please notify them via email: RowvillePS@teamkids.com.au
Students who are positive must not attend school and isolate for 7 day - they may return after the 7 days as long as they are well and symptom free. Students who are close contacts and test negative, may attend school. To attend school the close contact must test using a RAT for 5 days out of the 7 isolation days and if 8 years or older wear a mask while indoors at school.
Once a fortnight our student leaders co-host the Friday Program. This is the link to the latest edition:
