Making the Musician Excursion

On Thursday 19 May, we went on an excursion to Hamer Hall to watch the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra perform the musical pieces ‘Speed’ and ‘The Firebird’. I really liked how the presenter broke down the piece and explained the origin of it and how it is formed in an orchestra. The piece ‘Speed’ by Matthew Hindson was interesting to me, as I have never heard anything like a techno based orchestral composition. Getting to see an orchestra live was very different to watching it on video, as you can feel the energy from the orchestra and watching all the parts come together. I also enjoyed going to the city and getting to visit Hamer Hall again.
