Intermediate Boys Tennis
I go to the Australian Open every year to be treated to the finest talent in the sport. I have taken out the Boys Intermediate Tennis Team on a couple of occasions this term and have been equally entertained by their skill. They cruised through the District and Zone Finals, reaching the State Finals where they finished 3rd overall. It is a remarkable achievement and there is a lot to be proud of. Ayden K was almost impossible to beat. He rallied consistently with power all day long. Hayden H was equally difficult to play against. His left-hand swinging serve was painstakingly difficult for the opposition to navigate. Kurtis B could raise his game to the next level when he needed to and Ryan T’s crunching forehand winners sent many a tennis ball hurtling towards the back court. A big thanks goes out to Karthik N who filled in for the team in the Zone Finals. He adapted well to the tempo of singles and doubles play and confidently contributed to the team’s success. Mr Tom Chesters also deserves to be acknowledged for organising all the team administration.
Congratulations again to all the boys, and I wish them the best in their endeavors in the sport, and yes, I am aiming to put the band back together again for another tilt at the State title.

Senior Winter Round Robin
On Thursday 19 May, 65 Year 11 students represented the college in netball, AFL, soccer and badminton. Well done to all students who represented the school with such pride and integrity. Unfortunately we did not have any victorious teams on the day, however, being our first year competing in the Senior Round Robin days, and only competing with Year 11 students (and a few year 10s), it was an amazing achievement to have a team in nearly every sport throughout the semester. Finally, I would also like to congratulate all Year 11 students who have represented the college in all sporting days throughout the first semester! It will be fantastic next year when we will have both Year 11s and Year 12s representing the school! Go Beauie!
