Principal's Report

The theme for National Reconciliation Week empowers young people to make a difference. This begins with actions that we each take in our daily lives. This is visible in the college through our acknowledgment to country, ensuring students are informed about racism and the damage it causes, curriculum across the year levels that incorporates the perspective and the history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and care for our local environment. We encourage families to discuss the theme and how it connects us all as Australians.
Find out more at Home - National Reconciliation Week 2022Parents’ Association ran a highly successful sausage sizzle on Election Day. Special thanks to Clifford Francis (Vice President, Parents' Association) for organising and leading the team. Many of the candidates dropped in for a sausage and chat on what turned out to be one of the most exciting federal elections in Australia’s history. Congratulations to our new Member for Goldstein, Zoe Daniel. She follows in the footsteps of Vida Goldstein, who the seat is named after. Although Vida ran as an independent, she never actually won the seat.
We ran a parent information session on vaping presented by Dr Carolyn Beaumont and Officer Chris Dawson. It was a very informative session for the parents who attended. We will be holding similar sessions for students.
The Parents' Association have begun to build momentum with the first of many parent social events. The Year 7 Parents' Social Night was well attended and the Year 8 Parents' Social Night is coming this week. We hope to see many parents there connecting and building community with others at the college.
