Red Shield Appeal

The Salvation Army Red Shield Door Knock Appeal is traditionally a very popular Community Service event. For more than 30 years, Girton Grammar School, students have knocked on doors to raise money for the Salvation Army. Last year, approximately $8,000 was raised in only two hours!.  The Salvation Army estimates that since the School commenced supporting the annual Red Shield Appeal that approximately $250,00 has been raised by Girton students. 

 

Students will work in groups of four consisting of two senior students (Years 11 and 12) and two younger students (Years 7-10). Please register to participate in this worthwhile cause.

Years 7-10 registration opens Thursday 12th of May.

The Junior School have the popular “Red Pigs” back in their classroom and the challenge has been made to fatten them with loose change by the last weekend in May. They will also participate in a colouring competition run by the Salvation Army and the SRC have a very worthwhile initiative they will be sharing with the Junior School students next week.
