2022 C.A.S. Hawker Scholarships

Since 1990, the Hawker Scholarship Trustees have awarded more than six million dollars worth of residential scholarships to one hundred and thirty-six young Australian students, many from regional areas. The four successful 2022 candidates were selected from an Australia wide field of 150 applicants.

The late Lilias Needham, in memory of her brother, established the Charles Hawker Scholarship Memorial Trust. C.A.S. Hawker Scholarships, each valued at up to $60,000 over three years, are one of the most generous privately funded residential scholarships available to all Australian undergraduate and post-graduate students.

There are a number of scholarships awarded each year. The Trustees offer them to capable students of principle and character, who have demonstrated a commitment to the wider community. Selection is based on personal qualities as well as academic ability.

Applications for the 2023 Charles Hawker Scholarships open on 5 December 2022 and close on 6 January 2023. An application form and further information about C.A.S. The Diamond Valley Athletic Club

Competition age groups for girls and boys are Under 14, Under 16, Under 18 and Under 20. As well, the competition is available to Open age, 40+ & 50+ age categories. Training sessions under qualified Coaches are conducted on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at Willinda Park, Greensborough from 4:30pm. These sessions are free to club members.

The season of Cross Country running with AV commences on Saturday 7th May with Cross Country relays at Jells Park, Wheelers Hill. Junior athletes run a distance of 3km & senior athletes run legs of 6km.

The 2022 Winter season offers a mixture of Cross Country & Road running to cater for all abilities.
