Warm as Toast Once Again!!
We are very grateful to our builders FIMMA for fast tracking the connection of our gas line. The old line needed to be cut and a new line has been installed around the new hall and connected to the existing lines to our Learning Spaces.
Last week I informed you that this connection may not be completed till the start of Term 4. However, I am delighted to inform our community that the connection was completed for Learning Space 2 and 3 on Thursday afternoon and to Learning Space 1 on Friday morning. We are delighted that the plumbers and building team were able to successfully make this possible in such a short time. I also thank our school community for their understanding and patience as we completed this necessary work with minimum interruption. Our spaces stayed relatively warm and the timing was also good as we had a week of relatively warmer weather. We are now warm as toast with our gas heating available in all learning spaces.
2022 Swimming Program
This week we were informed by Casey Race that with regret they were unable to provide us with the sessions we had booked for our juniors and our seniors this year. This they explained was due to a nationwide shortage of swimming teachers. Casey Race explained that they have had many teachers depart as they have returned to university, or are on maternity leave or have gained other full time work. At this stage they were only able to provide us with 4 lessons for seniors and 4 for juniors later in Term 4.
Naturally we were very disappointed to have such late notification. We have tried other pools but the answer is the same everywhere as a result of a current reported shortage of swimming teachers.
After a lot of consideration, of the best solution under these circumstances we have decided to have a seniors only swimming program in 2022. The seniors will participate in the swimming program at Casey Race with a lesson on Monday and Tuesday in Week 6, Week 7 and Week 8 and a double lesson on Tuesday in Week 10. We are investigating water safety programs for our juniors for 2022 and a possible water fun day to end the year. In 2023, the juniors will definitely be prioritised for a swimming program.
If you are a junior parent and have already paid for the swimming program for 2022, we will reimburse you any funds not used for an alternative program. If you have any questions, please do contact the school via email, call or drop by and speak with us.
