Harcourt Organic Farm Cooperative Excursion

Last Thursday the 1st of September, the Year 9 Geography classes visited the Harcourt Organic Farm Cooperative to conduct fieldwork about sustainable farming practices. They broke into groups and toured the farm, looking at the various businesses that operate at the cooperative. The students got up close and personal with dairy cows, trying the delicious fresh milk. They also got to see a market garden in action and asked the owner questions about how she operates. The students discovered that over a hundred different vegetables are grown there! The students then walked through the orchards, tasting some delicious apple juice when they were done. The students learnt a lot from the excursion and they have gathered lots of data for the fieldwork reports.
