Have you ever heard of the time just before sunset or just after sunrise called Golden Hour? Maybe you know it as magic hour or magic light, but it is the phenomenon when the sky lights up with a pinkish, orangey red. Some days there’s virtually none, and other days it lasts for ages, and it got me thinking.
There are people in our lives who are like Golden Hour in our lives. People who in the ordinary motions and day to day activities, light our lives up with colour, and joy, and beauty. And even the briefest interaction with them can bring a smile to our face.
They light up the ordinary-ness of life. In the small things, they radiate beauty. They are a message of delight that tomorrow will be ok because in the new day they’ll be there with you. Whether you’re coming out of darkness or in a darkening place – they’re there for you.
They might be your partner, a friend, a family member, or someone close. Or the funny guy you get your coffee from. You might love them, you might just be blessed by their presence, but they still light up your life that little bit.
Know that you are someone’s Golden Hour person, appreciate your own, and thank God for the beautiful people He has placed in your life.
Heavenly Father,
You love us, and your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, Bless us today God as we seek to show your love to those around us. Thank you, Father, for our Golden Hour people who light up our lives, we are so grateful for all that you do for us God, and that you put people into our lives who care. Thank you, God, that you care. Protect us, guide us, forgive us, and give us strength today God of love, we pray these things in Jesus’ Name,
AMEN.
