SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY - FRIDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER

STAFF PROFESSIONAL LEARNING DAY IN INQUIRY LEARNING

(Please contact Susan at YLV if you require care for your child/ren)

END OF TERM 3 - FRIDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER AT 2:30PM

Dear Families,

It has been wonderful to have parents and family members back into our school to see all of the great learning that is happening throughout and to particpate in or help out with various activities. We look forward to many more opportunities throughout the remainder of this year.

Book Week

Our Book Week celebrations last week went off to a flying start with our annual Book Week Parade with children and staff coming dressed up in a range of characters to celebrate books! We thank the parents for your support with this event and if you were able to attend, it was fantastic to have you there. The morning reading sessions with parents and children throughout the week brought in many parents and guardians and it was another great way to welcome family members into the learning spaces. You can check out Class Dojo and our Facebook and Instagram pages containing posts about Book Week.

MACSSIS

The MACSSIS Family Improvement Survey was emailed out to families at the beginning of this week. At least one parent/guardian in each household had the email sent to an email address that we have on our records. We would appreciate you spending 15-20 minutes completing it as the data we receive will help us to further improve our school community. You have until Friday, 16th September to complete the survey. If your family did not receive the email please contact the school office.

Father's Day Celebration

Yesterday morning was a real buzz of joy, excitement and happy faces at St Michael's as we held our Father's Day Celebration. Thank you to all of the dads, grandfathers, uncles and other special role models in the children's lives for attending the various activities held in the classrooms around the school and on the basketball court and for joining us for morning tea in the hall and for a special performance from the St Michael's Choir and Rock Band led by Stacey our Music Specialist Teacher. A true credit to her hard work! Activities that were held around the school included, reading together and book mark making, card making, board and card games, kick the footy, golfing target, kick bricks, biscuit decorating and photo booth. A HUGE thanks goes out to the staff for organising and assisting in the running of the activities and morning tea and to Fiona our Community Engagement Leader for leading this special community event. Be sure to check out the photos from this event under 'Learning News'.

Father's Day Stall

A BIG thank you goes out to the band of parent helpers who volunteered at the Father's Day Stall on Tuesday and/or today. Your help and support is appreciated. The children were excited to be able to go shopping to buy that special present or two for their dad or other significant role model in their life.

Sacrament of First Reconciliation

Please keep the following Year 3/4 children in your thoughts and prayers as they prepare to make the Sacrament of First Reconciliation/Confession next Wednesday, 7th September at 7:00pm in St Michael's Church.

Anderson, Lana, Brielle, Sabrina, Jeremy, Parker, Hailey, Oslo, Jennifer, Trisha, Estelle, Austin, Marko & Tiffany.

Student Absence

A reminder that if your child/ren are away from school that you log into Operoo and fill in the 'St Michael's PS Student Absentee Form'. Alternatively, please call the school office and Press 1 to notify the student absence stating the reason for the absence (ie. if they are sick, attending an appointment etc.) This will help Michelle and Adriana when updating our daily attendance roll requirements.

If you intend on taking your child/ren out for a period of time ie. for a holiday, we request that you complete the 'Application for Student Exemption from St Michael's PS' on Operoo which is once completed sent directly to Denise for approval.

A further reminder that children who arrive after the bell goes at 8:50am will be marked as late. Arriving late is very disruptive not only to the child arriving late but also to the rest of the class as they have just begun to engage in learning for the day.

2022 School Fees

Thank you to all our families who have ensured their payment of fees is up to date. Please note, all school fees are due to be paid in full by the end of Term 3 - Friday, 16th September (except those with direct debit arrangements).

We wish all dads, grandfathers, uncles and other special role models in our lives a very Happy Father’s Day for this Sunday, 4th September! We remember those who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory.

Have a great weekend!
