TOURNAMENT OF MINDS (TOM) RESULTS

We had a fun day at the Tournament of Minds (TOM) Regional Finals on Saturday. The students all did really well and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

 

I am thrilled to announce that the following teams made it into the State Final of TOM, which will take place on Saturday 17 September at ECU Joondalup. At this event, teams will receive a new problem to solve and only have three hours to come up with a presentation of their solution. 

 

Congratulations to Team 6 (Language Literature coordinated by Mrs Loretta De Conti) who received Honours and to Team 4 (Language Literature coordinated by Mrs Tanya Atherton) who won the State Trophy for the best Spontaneous response. The question was “Money doesn’t grow on trees”, what three things could grow on trees and what impact would those items have on the future?' They only had four minutes to come up with a response. The team cleverly used idioms to answer the question.
