2023 RETURNING TO SCHOOL
We are beginning to plan for 2023 staffing.
These decisions are impacted by the number of students we will have in each year level.
You will be receiving a hard copy of a form on which you can indicate if your child/ren will be returning to HPS in 2023.
Please complete the form and return to school by:
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 9th.
PARENT PARKING AND BUS ZONES
We ask parents and carers dropping children off to school or picking them up at the end of the day to observe the 2 minute parking along Karoomba St.
Our IELP numbers are growing and we now have the bus service back – buses take priority in these parking bays.
Reminder that there is NO PARKING in any of these bays – drivers should remain in the car.
SSO WEEK
Huge THANK YOU to our amazing Support Staff – who do such an amazing job of supporting staff and students.
Our students showed their appreciation with some amazing portraits.
BOOK WEEK
Thanks to all families who supported our BOOK WEEK celebration. It was wonderful to see so many characters come to life in our school!
MEETING WITH TEACHERS
Regular communication with teachers is critical to enable us to work together to maximise the learning for our students. If you would like to meet with your child/ren’s teacher/s to discuss and issues you may have, please organise a mutually convenient time. Our staff are keen to maintain regular communication but do have meeting commitments after school on a regular basis.
If meeting times are negotiated prior to the meeting – it works better for everyone.
ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL
Reminder that there is NO ADULT SUPERVISION before 8:30 am each morning. Any children left in the school grounds prior to 8:30 am are at risk. Please DO NOT leave or send you child/ren to school before 8:30 am.
Our OSHC service is available daily before school if you need to leave your children before 8:30 am.
REPORTING STUDENT ABSENCES
Parents and Carers – please notify the admin office directly when notifying us that your child/ren will not be at school.
You can do this by:
Phone: 82612248 – message bank will take your message after hours
SMS to: 0416905319
Please do not notify via Seesaw as this can create confusion if class teachers are not at school.
RIGHT BITE POLICY
This state wide policy is expected to be implemented by all schools and preschools.
We are bound by the requirements. ((Please see attached page on the policy)
This means that we need to restrict any food in the RED ZONE to only twice per term.
Our staff have made the decision that we will have
· 1 whole school event
And
· 1 class event
Per term where food in the Red Zone could be provided to students.
We ask that families do not send Red Zone food to school for birthday celebrations as we will not be able to offer it to students.
BUILDING UPDATE
The roof is on and internal walls in!
The build is predicted to be ready for use at the end of September.
We plan to move in during the next school holiday break.
