Year 7 & 10 Wellbeing Events

On Tuesday 23 August, our Year 7 students participated in various wellbeing workshops to help them recognise and manage emotions (emotional regulation), build confidence (Tai Chi) and to understand the dangers and legal aspects of vaping. To complete the day, they finished with a sport session. The Dangers of Vaping was very informative. I gained good insight on how it would affect people. They gave us good facts on the dangers and how it affects us.

 

The Emotional Regulation workshop was engaging and we got to deal with real life examples. Some of the skills we learnt were box breathing, 5,4,3,2,1 focusing on your senses. They also encouraged us to speak to someone too. 

 

The Tai Chi session was very calming, the presenter taught us about breathing and self-control. I learnt a lot on the Wellbeing Day.

Year 10 'Celebrating Safely' Seminar

On Monday 22 August, Sonya Karras spoke to the Year 10 students about managing peer pressure in relation to drugs and alcohol.
