Football

Firstly, can I just say how proud the coaches are of the Lockley North 2/3 Footy team. The team spirit is fantastic and the group is coming together to play some really good footy.

We took on West Lakes Shore away last weekend and this might have been the toughest games of the season so far. We had plenty of opportunities to score through some great teamwork effort.

For the coaches TEAMWORK is the most important thing. Take note of the AFL players and how they use their team mates to move the ball forward and score goals. Teamwork is more important to the coaches than scoring goals as we help develop young players.

The coaches have been really impressed with the improvement of one young fella who despite being a year 1 has taken on the big boys and scored what could be Goal of The Year so far. Well Done young fella.

Another young fella, more known for his dancing than his footy,  showed some great improvement on the weekend and went in  and “HUNTED” the ball amongst some tough opposition. Keep up the good work.

The first Lockleys North Footy Cards were handed out last week and the feedback has been that the kids can’t put them down. Our young footy stars have their own footy cards just like the AFL players. Lots of work went into them so a BIG THANK YOU to Kristy Amato who spent days putting them together. This will be a great keepsake for the kids and parents.

We have a 3 week break from footy over the School Holidays but the coaches will make themselves available for any child who wants to go to the school and practice on the weekend. It will be a great opportunity to get outside and play with your kids and help them develop their footy skills.

Thank you to all the parents who have provided some great positive feedback to the coaches and for the help and support and match days.
