I Am Mindful Program

Recently teachers at RPS, participated in professional development to learn about the ‘I Am Mindful’ program. This program helps students learn to better manage their mental health by teaching them evidence-based coping strategies. Students learn how to manage tough times in a proactive, skillful and healthy way.

The ‘I Am Mindful’ program was developed by Stephanie Silver, who is a Positive Psychology Practitioner and the founder of ‘I Am Mindful.’

We are fortunate to receive a number of communal I.A.M toolkits, that students can access at school. The resources and strategies within these toolkits, help students to self-regulate and manage their emotions. Teachers are exploring each strategy and supporting students to develop a number of different ways to remain positive, calm and become comfortable and focused. It effectively compliments  ‘The Zones of Regulation’ curriculum that has been used in all classrooms this year.
