This week all students across the school have had the opportunity to attend our JSA Father's Day stall. Students were able to choose a gift for dad for Father's Day this Sunday. For some of our students, this is sometimes one of the first experiences they have to buy something from a shop. The shop had such a variety of gifts, and we thank the hard work of the parents who organised and operated it for the two days. Some students also made some special cards and gifts for dads or special person.

Inclusion is one of our values at JSA, and that is what we celebrated last Friday. It was 'Wear it Purple Day" to recognise how important it is to recognise all people in our community. Some students and staff wore purple clothes - it was a wonderful sight. We especially loved the purple doors classrooms decorated. The colourful rainbow that the students in Room 8 created looked terrific! Despite the gloomy weather, we even raised a flag to celebrate the day. Well done to all for your participation in the celebrations on the day.

Part of my role at the moment also includes overseeing some classrooms from our Middle Sub School. What a pleasure it has been to be able to visit these classrooms and see some of the achievements from our students. Last week I saw students in Room 13 complete some fantastic writing pieces. And the best part was that they were eager to show off their creative work. The students in Room 4 have been enjoying a sound-letter bingo game. It is always impressive to see how our teachers and ES staff are able to teach their lessons in a fun and engaging way.

"Thank you" to parents and carers for sending in warm coats and hats for students to wear outside. When the weather is not too wet our students still like being outside and being warm makes it much more enjoyable. Winter is not quite finished- so keep sending those warm clothes in. It is really helpful when the clothing items are labelled clearly with your child's name. Sometimes accidents do happen, and a student may get wet from a puddle in the playground. Please make sure your child has a spare set of clothes at school. These can be stored in the classroom in case they are needed at school.

Room 3

Term 3 has been a busy and full term. A big focus this semester has been learning about money in Maths. We have been exploring coins in sensory play, sorting coins into like piles, describing and naming coins and adding and totalling coins. A favourite activity is playing shops in the classroom.

Room 13

This term Room 13 has learned a lot!

Aaron really enjoyed participating during our Reader’s Theater in English.

We had fun learning about different gender identities. Emily and Natalie liked decorating for and WEARING IT PURPLE for our special celebration last week.

Saviour is loving his responsibilities as student leader and can’t wait to help out during the Colour Run this Friday.

Ryan had fun working with Emily during our chatterbox sessions.

Peter is a maths-wiz and loves learning about numbers and patterns.

Nusaybah is learning to form friendships with her classmates and loved participating in PE potato sack races!

Josh enjoyed exploring a video game that taught us about cyber safety.

Room 13 had an excellent term learning and playing together.😊
