Staffing Update
Today is PE Specialist, Ben Clancy's last day at JSA as he is moving to a school closer to home. Although you were only at Jacana for a very short time the students really related well to you and were engaged in their PE sessions.
Recruiting for 2023: We continue to recruit staff with several recruitment panels underway ahead of 2023. This is been a huge task and I really appreciate that the staff commit to being on these panels on top of their usual day-to-day tasks. It's been an ongoing process to recruit staff this year and like many schools, we continue to experience workforce pressures. We have been experiencing a slight increase in the availability of casual staff which has been a welcomed relief.

Reminders
Unwell Students
Each morning when students are getting ready for school, I ask that you be mindful of how your child is presenting. If they/he/she is feeling/looking/acting unusual or is complaining of being unwell please take them to the doctor. Minimising the cross-infection will assist in reducing the risk of spreading the winter bugs and viruses.
All student absences can be made through the dedicated student absence notification number. Text the student's name, room number and reason for absence.
Make sure you have the student absence notification number saved in your contacts:
0439 114 197.
