PCYC Update

Our relationship with the Liverpool PCYC continues to grow with student involvement in several programs.

Fit For Work

Fit for Work commenced in Term 3. This program is designed to increase employment opportunities for students aged 15 – 18 years. Throughout the whole of Term 3, four of our year 12 students (Jack, Levi, Jessica and Andrew) attended the PCYC three days per week to complete the program. All students gained accreditation in various qualifications including thier First Aid Certificate, White Card and other nationally accredited courses. The growth we have seen in these students is phenomenal and they should all be congratulated. Andrew was awarded the ‘Outstanding Commitment’ award at the graduation ceremony which was voted by the police offices and PCYC staff who facilitated the course. This is an amazing achievement and definitely a proud moment for Andrew, his family and our school. Congratulations to all, we are so proud of you. A wonderful example of student growth and achievement. We hope your involvement in this program has assisted you as you transition in to post school life.

Fit For Life

Fit for Life continues before school each Wednesday morning. This program aims to improve overall wellbeing through physical fitness, nutrition and social engagement. Our regular attenders should be commended for their commitment to the program. Tyler, Naeem, Sean, Astyn and Ryan your enthusiasm and attendance in program should be commended.

If you would like to join the program, please see Ms Cattanach or Julie Moon at the start of Term 4.

A big thank you to Julie Moon and Mr Zhang for your continued support of the students and the program as well as Mr Roberts who is on standby with the school bus each week.

PCYC Anti Violence Talk

Year 8 and 9 students were involved in an Anti-Violence presentation with Senior Constable McFarlane, Youth Engagement Officer. The new anti-violence program was developed by the NSW Police Force in partnership with the PCYC which features well known sporting influencers and ambassadors. We hope the Year 8 and 9 students are able to continue to be advocates in standing up to youth violence with valuable lessons discussed during the presentation.
