Grade 3/4

These past few weeks in numeracy, we have been learning about the concept of fractions. The students have been learning to recognise fractions as part of a whole and making connections to the real world. 

We have been doing hands on activities where the students have been identifying halves, thirds, quarters, fifths and eighths. Activities have included fraction puzzles, fraction walls, fraction bingo and creating their own worded problems. Students are enjoying this concept and have shown an increased engagement in open ended tasks where everyone is able to succeed and extend their own learning.
