Principal's Report

Book Week: Friday 26 August

Next Friday 26 August we will be celebrating Book Week! We invite students to come dressed as their favourite book character. To start off the day we will have an assembly in the theatre from 9:15am-10:00am. Students will show off their costumes at the parade and there will be awards for best dressed and most creative.  Students will then rotate around 3 activities with different teachers. Throughout the week there will be a book quiz, a chance to design a comic strip and lots of other fun book week activities.

Please note: There will be no afternoon assembly at 2:45pm.

Have A Go Night

Make sure you get involved and come along next Friday night!

2022 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. We encourage all families to participate in this survey. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

A random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents/caregivers/guardians have been selected to participate in this year’s survey. If your family has been selected to participate in the survey, you will be notified via email early next week.

Schools can conduct the Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey from Monday 15 August to Friday 16th September

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.

SCHOOL REVIEW: We had the first day of our School Review on Tuesday, the panel comprised of a Principal from another school, Representatives from the Department of Education, Jimmy Harris our School Council President and an external reviewer. The day went extremely well and it was fantastic to involve a number of staff throughout the day. We have 2 more days to complete our Review Process and develop our Strategic Plan for the next 4 years.

" Schools cannot improve student learning if they do not focus on a small number of goals for improvement and commit together to a set of strategic actions to deliver on the goals."

Thanks to all involved.
