Trivia Night - Saturday 10 September
Planning has kicked off this week for the night of all nights - the St Pius X College Trivia Night! Last year, COVID stopped us, so this year we're expecting a big one! The theme has been set, the Trivia master booked, and now all the clubs will be looking for donations and assistance from our wonderful community. Watch this space for more details over the coming weeks for how you can help. Remember, all proceeds from the Trivia Night will go straight to the clubs, of which your boys are part of.
Parent Seminar - Managing Screen Time and Gaming Addiction
The College welcomes The Unplugged Psychologist, Brad Marshall, to present to parents for a not-to-be-missed opportunity on Wednesday 10 August, 7.00 pm - 8.00 pm in the college gym.
SESSION OVERVIEW: In this energetic and fun presentation parents will discover:
- The “Psych Science” or psychological underpinnings that drive the addictive nature of gaming, social media and online gambling delivered in plain English, NOT research jargon.
- When Should Parents Panic? This will spell out the warning signs your child or teenager is headed down the wrong path.
- Introduction to the 7 UNPLUGGED STEPS for parents as a guide to manage screen and gaming addiction in children and teenagers at home. Parents will leave this session with a clear action plan
for WHAT they need to change in their family, WHY and HOW to do this.
