Performing Arts  Matters

This week we welcome another new member of the Performing Arts teaching team. Mrs Christine Lewis. Mrs Lewis comes to us from Caroline Chisholm College, Glenwood Park. Mrs Lewis has a vast array of experience and will be working with our singers in the choir program. We welcome Mrs Lewis and wish her many productive and happy times at St Pius X College.

Colour Awards are just around the corner and we look to celebrate our students' achievements in the extracurricular area. Colour Awards recognise a student's commitment to their ensemble including attendance, punctuality, development of skills and leadership. For that reason I urge students to maintain their communication and commitment as it will be recognised. I have asked Ensemble Directors to nominate those students who have shown this dedication to their ensembles.

Miss Chen started the Training Strings Group last Friday with much enthusiasm from the students. Please let me know if you want to participate in this group - for students in Years 5, 6 and 7.
