Chapel Mass

Monday morning saw the commencement of our Term 3 Chapel Mass schedule. Religious Education Class 10-2 hosted our celebration. Fr Joey highlighted for us the significance of Matthew’s Gospel related to being salt of the earth. Salt, being a natural preserving agent during biblical times, is still today something that brings out the best in all that it is added to. Students were encouraged to use their gifts and talents to bring out the best in themselves and those around them.

Our next Chapel Mass in a fortnight's time will be hosted by Mr Pawlak’s Year 10 Religious Education class. This occurs on Monday 15 August, the Feast of the Assumption. A Holy Day of Obligation, where Catholics celebrate and remember that Mary was assumed into heaven body and soul.

Youth Mass

This Saturday is the first combined Mercy College and St Pius X College Youth Mass for 2022. The aim of the parish is to set aside the first Saturday of the month as a dedicated Youth Mass. This Saturday will be hosted by Mercy College, who will provide the music. In saying this, students of St Pius X College will be in attendance and assist as readers, ministers and also provide a brief description of major school events that have occurred and that are up coming. All families are most welcome.

Year 12 Retreat Program

Our Year 12 students are hard at work, presently completing their Trial HSC. Following these exams all students will participate in our Retreat program which has been able to return to pre-COVID practices. Students will be afforded time out following the rigors of their exams to reflect upon the relationships in their lives. We are very grateful here at the College that all three priests of Our Lady of Dolours Parish will give of their time so as to provide a meaningful and solemn retreat experience for the young men of Year 12.
