Meet our new staff

A big warm welcome to Bec Thorpe our new PE teacher!

What is your favourite creative or relaxing outlet?

I would have to say running. All of my best creative ideas come to me when I go on a big run. I think it’s because I am trying to distract myself from the actual running!

What is the best holiday you have ever taken and why?

I would have to say moving to London for a year. I loved it! I made so many new friends and got to travel to many European cities. I love learning about new places, exploring them and going on adventures. My favourite countries I visited on that trip would have to be Slovenia. Lake Bled was just stunning. I also was a P.E teacher at a school in South London.

A close second would be Sri Lanka. The food, the animals and the beaches were insane.

What is one thing that you could not go a day without?

Coffee. I love my morning coffee. Also exercise I hate sitting still and make sure I move every day in some way.

Tell us all about your pets?

I have a dog named Rocky. He is very cute and playful. He has recently moved to Queensland with my parents though. I enjoy visiting him and them on my holidays whenever I get the chance.

What do you like the most about teaching?

I love helping students achieve their goals. Watching students challenge themselves to try something new and seeing the smile on their face when they are successful is like magic. I believe learning is life long and learning new things with my students each day brings so much joy.
