Prayer

With the announcement of Mr Michael Ronchetti as the new College Principal 2023, we offer the following prayer

The future is deep within the mystery of God’s will,

Where your thoughts never think to wander

This beginning has been quietly forming

Waiting to emerge.

Trust the promise of this opening

Embrace the grace of a new beginning

And soon you will be in a new rhythm

For your soul senses the opportunities that await you.

Let us pray for the community of St Pius X College

Students, parents, staff, ex-students, families and friends

We pray for our new Principal, Mr Ronchetti and ask for God’s blessing on us all.

Mr Michael Ronchetti  - New Principal of St Pius X College Commencing 2023

On behalf of the College, I am delighted to congratulate Mr Michael Ronchetti on his appointment to the position of Principal commencing in 2023. Mr Ronchetti is a highly successful Principal in one of our EREA schools, St Dominic’s College, Penrith.

Mr Ronchetti is a dynamic, highly personable and energetic leader who has brilliantly developed St Dominic’s College in every way. I am very excited that under Mr Ronchetti’s educational leadership the College will continue to grow from strength to strength.

We look forward to the opportunity to welcome Mr Ronchetti later in the year.

Welcome Back to Term 3

I welcome back all staff and students for Term 3 and the school has certainly started very well with our full attention to the boys and their learning, cultural pursuits and sporting honours in full preparation for the term.

In particular I wish to thank parents, students and staff for the successful parent/teacher days held on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 June. These were highly beneficial meetings and these will form the starting point for the students working from their reports and these discussions to develop goals for this Semester. The Semester 1 Academic Awards ceremony will be held on Friday 5 August in The Concourse at 11.15 am.  Invitations will be extended to parents and carers of Award recipients.

I wish everyone a hardworking and rewarding term ahead.

Holiday Activities and Tours

During the term break there were many activities available to the students and I acknowledge and congratulate the following:

  • The College staff conducted a good number of HSC holiday seminars which were well attended by large numbers of students
  • Red Dirt Tour to to Coonabarabran, Coonamble, Walgett, Brewarrina and Bourke
  • 1st XV Rugby Tour to Queensland
  • The Junior School Prep Football tour to Tamworth
  • A highly successful Football Skills Camp at Oxford Falls, with 130 students participating
  • The Inaugural SPX Snowsports Team in Perisher
  • The July Cup for the First XI Football unfortunately was a washout

By all accounts every one of these students represented the College with distinction, pride and exemplary manners.  They are truly a testament to the wonderful young men of St Pius X College.

Monday's Staff Development Day saw 6 EREA Schools around the wider Sydney area join together for a Professional Development Day.  Each faculty joined together at respective schools for a day of learning, sharing of ideas and teaching knowledge and also a day of collegiality.  St Pius X College were pleased to host teaching staff from the Languages, PDHPE and Junior School Faculties at both our Chatswood and Oxford Falls Campuses.

It was a wonderful day where our staff could meet others and share within their own fields of expertise.
