Regional Seahorses Football Finals

It has been a busy week in Beauy North Seahorses Football, with both the girls and boys team competing on consecutive days in the Regional Carnival, held out in Bonbeach.

With opposition now travelling from far and wide from all over Victoria, we knew there would be a lift in intensity and would have to be on our game from the first bounce. Both teams came out of the blocks with comfortable victories in the first two games, then were faced with some challenging opponents in the later games.

The girls won all 4 games leading into a blockbuster Grand Final against Mount Martha, which was a tight tussle but we managed to hold off a late charge and win by 4 points which was met by celebrations from the girls for a much deserved achievement.

Thank You Alan Moyle (Saffrons dad) for these photos

Boys were a part of a 4 team pool and needed to win the pool to play later in the afternoon in a Grand Final. It came down to the two undefeated teams in the pool for the place in the Grand Final, BNPS vs Langwarrin Park. It was really close and went back and forth but we managed to again claim a 4 point victory after they kicked a goal after the siren and make our way into the Grand Final. Beacon Hills were the opponent, who had beaten all others before them. After a slow start we got going and managed to win the game and claim another Regional Championship for Beaumaris North, again very well deserved.

Both teams will be competing in the state finals in two weeks’ time, a huge achievement for the school and all due to the teamwork and enthusiasm generated by two skilled and supportive sides, phenomenal effort all round. Go the Seahorses!

Division Mixed Netball Team 2022

Congratulations to the Mixed Netball Team

The mixed Netballers played in the Division Netball Gala Day at Springers Leisure Centre. The team played 2 pool games where they defeated both teams by over 10 points winning their pool and making the Grand Final.

The final was against Tucker Road Primary School and we were up by 5 goals at half time. we felt the pressure in the second half as Tucker Road closed in on us. In the dying seconds of the game we were 1 goal down and had several opportunities but couldn't convert them.

A great effort to finish second in the Division against a strong team who were composed and calm. Congratulations to BNPS - you should be very proud of yourselves to getting this far.

Great work - Inca Harris, Ava Baxter, Mac Beaumont, Darcy Eyres, Maddie Smith, Neve Kitson, Charlotte Ross, Tyler Kirk, Hobart Weigal and James Dooley.Special thanks to our parents- Kelli Baxter and Lydia Kitson who drove the team to Springers and helped support the team and thanks for scoring Lydia.

Also to Claire and Natalie who came and supported the team for the day.

Much appreciated.

Hockey Report

When we got to BSC nerves were high, our team was ready, but we knew Beaumaris was an exceptionally good team. Our team had solid defenders, great midfielders and bloodthirsty attackers, and one injured player Mason as moral support.

Last time we played them, we tied 1-1 but this time we realised that they had acquired two more state players, yet we were still confident in our success. Fast forward to the start of the game, Beaumaris started with the ball and then we were caught off guard by their great attack and before we knew it, we were down 1-0. From an unlucky bounce from the defence another goal was scored and then we were down 2-0. When we had the ball, we made a counterattack which almost led to a goal, but the ball was hit off the post. After that we got another close shot which just went off to the side. By half time we were down 3-0, morale hit rock bottom, we were down by 3 and had missed two close shots.

Beginning the second half, Beaumaris scored yet another goal, around the 3-minute mark a penalty was given to Fletcher. He took the shot and he NAAAIIILLLED it! As the whistle blew our chances of getting into districts were destroyed. The end score was 4-1.
