Year 12 Trial Exams
In the second week of the September holidays (26- 30 September), Trial Exams will be run for all Year 12 subjects. The Trial Exam Block will have 3 sessions each day starting at 9:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 2:00 pm, respectively. A timetable will be published closer to the date. Whilst these Trial Exams are not compulsory, it is strongly recommended that all students take this additional opportunity to practice their content knowledge and skills and receive valuable feedback from their teachers.
Seniors Celebration
Today the seniors celebrate 100 days until the end of school. They visited the Prep Centre to share some fairy bread with the Preps, who complete their 100 days into school. To mark the occasion, a wonderful cake was shared in the Chapel Courtyard.
Congratulations to our seniors on reaching this milestone.
Business Bites
The Year 12 Business class had their last student-led Business Bites session this week. Led by Grace Hinneberg, students learnt about Kotter’s change management theory. Grace planned and resourced the lesson for students, which included video clips, a PowerPoint presentation, a worksheet, Kahoot and creating a poster of the 8 stages. Students enjoyed the range of activities and debriefed at the end of the lesson with a morning tea celebration. Over their course of study in senior Business, every student has presented a session. They have also had numerous guest speakers lead sessions in the classroom. Students are to be commended for their commitment to planning and running their session. Through this process, they have demonstrated and learnt many skills, such as leadership, organisation, communication, ICT and creative and creative thinking, all very useful for the future.
Chinese Cultural Day
On Wednesday, 3 August, we offered Clayfield students and staff the opportunity to experience an unforgettable Chinese Cultural Day. There were many fantastic activities to get involved in, including fan dances, brush painting, Guzheng instruments and Animal Taiji. Students also had fun with traditional Chinese toys. Thank you to the QUT Confucius Institute for their partnership with the College in bringing these wonderful activities to us each year.
