100 Days of Prep

Congratulations to the Prep class of 2022 on reaching their first 100 days of school! This was a very special morning, with the Seniors joining them as they too celebrated their last 100 days of school. We ate Fairy Bread (with hundreds and thousands) and shared stories about their favourite time at school. The Prep teachers created some wonderful activities, including grouping numbers to 100, creating colourful biscuits and using the app'; Aging Booth where they thought about the question. "When I am 100, I will look like..."

Prep to Year 2 STEM Punks Incursion

Our Prep to Year 2 students had a wonderful time with Jonathan from STEMPunks on Monday this week. They used technology to record the air quality, light levels and soil moisture, and thought about how we can recycle, reuse and reduce our waste to protect life below water. They also used the Quiver app to bring their dolphin pictures to life. Thank you to the P&F for their support of this program.

Prep Ocean Life Incursion

On Tuesday, Richard from Ocean Life visited the Prep children. Ocean Life’s primary school program provides the children with an interactive hands-on experience with live marine animals, bringing learning to life and inspiring them to take responsibility for the marine ecosystem. The Prep children loved their chance to see and touch sea stars, tropical sea cucumbers, sea urchins and Frankie, the fresh-water turtle. These experiential encounters are an important part of the learning process as we know the immense value that comes from these moments. Ocean Life forms part of the Prep's Unit of Inquiry of Living Things.
