Languages Week

Bruschetta and Bocce

A taste of Italy

CIAO a tutti! National Languages Week was celebrated in style at St Norbert College this week. Students of Languages participated in many activities across the week that enhanced their learning. Students of Italian in Year 7 made the Italian antipasto dish Bruschetta while Year 8 and 9 students enjoyed making delicious Italian pizza from scratch - L'impasto per la pizza. They were taught the recipes in Italian (see if you can follow the La Bruschetta recipe below!)

All students at the College were invited to play Bocce at lunchtime in the Italian classroom, with many students who had never played the game before having fun in giving it a go for the first time.

Following the success of last year’s Create-your-own Anime Character Competition the Languages Department is once again holding this competition with the winner to be announced in Week 7. Some amazing entries have already been submitted.

Meanwhile, P7 won the Homeroom Languages Quiz and Year 9 EALD students made welcome signs for Languages Week, which are hanging in Admin and Student Services and along the windows of T5 and T6.
