LODDON MALLEE REGION NETBALL FINALS

On Thursday 21th July, after winning their sections at the Schools Sports Victoria – Campaspe Carnival last term, two very talented Rochester Secondary School netball teams travelled to Bendigo to compete in Loddon Mallee Region Netball Carnival.

The teams were:

Year 8 - Sophie Joyce, Maddie Howard, Indi Hunter, Remy Cowan, Matilda Anderson, Marli Cottam, Kaylah Moon, Kasey Stone, Paige Simmie, Amelia Woodfine

Year 11/12 - Emily Jones, Steph Moon, Charlee Roulston, Teal Hocking, Tanzin Myers, Tegan Williams, Charlotte Gould, Kaitlyn Joyce, Ava Cottam, Alex Ingram

Our Year 8 team played very well against much larger schools including Catherine McAuley College, Bendigo and St Joseph’s College, Mildura.

Our Year 11/12 team lost only one game to finish second to the ultimate senior winner of Catherine McAuley College, Bendigo. Other teams in their division were St Mary MacKillop College, Swan Hill and Mildura Senior College.

Many thanks to our umpires for the day – Milly Haines and Melissa Haines.  A huge thank you to our coaches - Mrs. Roulston and Mrs. Whipp. A special thank you to Mrs. Whipp for giving up her time to travel to Melbourne and back to collect the Year 11 girls from work experience.
