Torquay Library: "Who Wants to be an Epidemiologist?"

On Thursday 18th of August Torquay library is hosting an event called Who Wants to be an Epidemiologist? for Science Week.  Our panel will be Professor Emeritus Joan Ozanne-Smith, Monash Department of Forensic Medicine; the Alfred Deakin Professor Catherine Bennett, Chair in Epidemiology at Deakin University; and Jessy Hansen, Data Analyst and PhD candidate at Monash University.  They will discuss their career pathways and experiences working in public health.

Sport Support Australia 

Sport Support Australia will be offering some after-school fitness sessions for free to all SCSC students. These include:

  • Mondays Boxing 3:15 - 4pm
  • Wednesday Morning Run Club (Oval next netball courts) 7:30am - 8:30am
  • Wednesdays Strength Circuit 3:15-4pm
  • Thursdays Social Sports 3:15-4pm

All meeting points are outside the Basketball Stadium (school side). 

 

Students do not need to register or enrol and are welcome to simply show up, however if you have any questions you may contact via the details below:

Geelong United Basket Ball

Geelong United Basketball (GUB) are running a social junior basketball competition for school aged kids. 

 

When: Thursday evenings between 4:30pm - 6:30pm

Where: At any of the GUB affiliated venues. CLICK HERE to view as it will change week to week.

Who: We currently have 4 competitions for different age groups as below. Players don’t need to be from the same school, just in the right school grade. 

 

Prep – Grade 2: mixed

Grades 3 & 4: mixed

Grade 5 & 6: mixed

Grade 7 & 8: boys and girls

 

We can also work along side schools that would like to use this as an extracurricular activity for their students.
