Hoop Time

On Friday the 12th of August the whole Year 6 cohort travelled to the Knox Basketball Stadium. We were up against many schools in our area including: Brandon Park Primary School, Mulgrave Primary School, St John Vianney’s, St Justin's Primary School and St Leonard’s. Good Shepherd had a total of 7 teams including an All Star Boys and an All Star Girls team. 

Everyone learned many new Basketball skills and developed great teamwork abilities throughout the day. We had a great time with our friends and we were able to experience something new. The Good Shepherd grade sixes and teachers were super supportive of each other even if we lost or made a mistake. Everyone tried their very best and didn't stop trying until the game was over. Some of us had never played basketball before, but our determination and persistence paid off.

The Future Stars teams played extremely well and tried their best but sadly didn't make their grand final. The All Star Girls team played so well on the day and made it into the Grand Final which they unfortunately lost. The All Star Boys team made it into the Grand Final which they won significantly. They will be competing in the Hoop Time Division Tournament in Term 4. At the end of the day everybody tried their very best and learned many new things.
