Food For Families 2017 Appeal
Food For Families 2017 Appeal
Murrumbeena Primary School is involved for the 11th year in the Food For Families Appeal. This appeal was originally organised by an
ex-parent of our school community who, unfortunately, now has very advanced breast cancer.
Normally our school community fills about 15 boxes of non-perishable food and toiletries, but I am hoping that we will be able to double this to 30 boxes this year just to show her our support of her legacy, as this appeal is very dear to her heart. At the same time, of course, we will be helping out many families in need of a helping hand at Christmas time!
Every classroom will have a donation box. Take a look in your pantry for any ‘in date’ non-perishable food that you would like to donate to this year’s Food For Families Appeal. It is a great way of cleaning out your pantry at the same time as helping out others.
Please note – nothing that has expired or is out of date please.
Next time you are doing your grocery shop you might want to pop a few extra toiletries into the basket. Take the kids along and ask them to help choose items to donate to demonstrate how we look after our wider community.
Look at the list below for some ideas.
