F-4 Community News

Foundation
Students in Foundation have had a busy week! We have been learning about Palm Sunday in Religious Education, practising our letter and number formation and even had a visit from the Kyabram Vet to learn about how they can help us and our pets.
Years 1 and 2
In 1/2 we have been very lucky to have four Year 11 students who are taking part in a ‘Pay It Forward Project’ for Project Compassion in our classroom. Olivia, Chloe, Belle and Alyssa have been joining us during Period 6 on a Tuesday in our Religious Education time. They are helping teachers deliver the stories of acts of kindness and how Project Compassion is helping communities in struggling countries to ‘Be More’ and demonstrate faith, love and generosity.
Years 3 and 4
During Week 6 in R.E., Years 3 and 4 students undertook the task of what skills we need to possess to be a good friend. Students watched a short clip together to gain knowledge of multiple skills before selecting 2-3 skills they would like to have to be a good friend. Students completed the task of writing down their skills and these are now proudly on display in the 3-4 classrooms. Students are encouraged to use the new skills they have learnt during R.E. in the school and home environment and our community.
Years 3-4 Inquiry unit 'Healthy Habits’
This term students have been learning about different aspects of having healthy habits in their lives. Students have been undertaking activities focusing on healthy minds, healthy bodies, healthy eating, cyber safety and personal safety. Students have been participating in meditation, looking at nutritional information on various food and drink packages, creating cyber safe superhero characters and full size paper skeletons. Students have enjoyed learning more about themselves and how to stay happy and healthy.
