Community and Wellbeing

Introducing Jo Giudice - Our new Wellbeing Officer
Jo commenced with us at the beginning of this year. Jo has a lot of experience in wellbeing, having worked in two other schools as a wellbeing officer (a total of 10 years experience in schools). She has also worked in juvenile justice and in disability. Jo has a great sense of fun and energy which she brings to her role. She is a keen hiker and enjoys the great outdoors. Jo works full time at the college and assists with short term one to one student support and whole school wellbeing projects. Jo is affiliated with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Jo works alongside David Adamson, who is also a wellbeing officer at the college.
If you are concerned about your child’s wellbeing you should speak with your TA who can assist you with a wellbeing referral for your child.
Bullying. No Way!
Today our school recognises and participates in the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. It is an important day in our school calendar to join with other schools across Australia to say ‘Bullying. No Way!’ We’re joining the nationwide movement with schools across Australia to Take Action Together against bullying. All classes will participate in some learning around what is bullying and the impact it has on others. TA groups will undertake a pledge signing activity. This involves all committing to stop bullying. At our school, we encourage students to take hold of the issue and talk about what works. Our hope is that this message is spoken of at home as well. Let’s support our students to drive powerful messages and take action to prevent bullying.
Below are some facts that we are teaching our students at present. By making students aware of this, we are hopeful that we can make changes to these statistics.
Let’s get behind the activities this week and stand together to prevent bullying!
If you are concerned about bullying, please contact your child’s TA. If your child is impacted you may consider a wellbeing referral for your child. Your child’s TA teacher can assist with this.
The numbers in the sheet below are always helpful.
