Western Bulldogs Youth Leadership Project

By Shiona Jenkins

On Tuesday the 9th February BSC held an assembly in honour of the Western Bulldogs Youth Leadership Project. The project offers 14-16 year olds the opportunity to build their leadership, resilience and community engagement skills and is delivered via 10 fortnightly sessions.

Designed to encourage students to take on leadership roles within the school and their community, the project highlights the benefits of becoming a youth leader. Participants are encouraged to make a meaningful impact in their local community and partake in social impact projects.

Student leadership roles are extremely important, and are closely linked with our values here at BSC, promoting respectful relationships, high expectations, and excellence, not only within the school, but also the wider community.

2021 School Captains, Jaelyn Brand and Naomi Gerrard delivered speeches based on their experiences within their roles and discussed the importance of student leadership. This was followed up by Western Bulldogs Youth Leadership Project representative, Hannah Singleton, who outlined the opportunities available and explained how to sign up for the program.

2021 BSC school leaders were also presented with their leadership badges. Listed below are our student leaders for the year.
