News from the Performing Arts/ Music Room

This term in Performing Arts, SLC have been learning and applying the rules of dramatic  improvisation. Give yourself permission to fail, say “yes and”, see it as a game and, most importantly, relax and have fun.

MLC have been learning about the Dreamtime in Australian Aboriginal culture and using these ancient stories as a catalyst for drama. Here’s our version of the rainbow serpent.

JLC have further explored human emotions in improvisation. They have also started a mime routine, including imaginary walls and a “mime walk.“

Preps have enjoyed singing loud and soft while playing the closet key game. They have enjoyed dramatic improvisation playing the Toyshop, and we started our Journey with Professor Sevenwell the seventologist who loves the number Seven. It's interesting that the Preps have seven friends in their class this year.
